Holiday Sparkling Special
December 2016
It's that time of year again! Time for holiday gatherings, dinners with friends and family and special celebrations. It's also time for our annual holiday sparkling wine selections.
We are thrilled to be offering two special sparkling wines this year. The first, the J. Albin 2008 Brut Rosé, is a classic sparkling wine made from Pinot Noir in the traditional Méthode Champenoise. That means the wine achieves its bubbles through a secondary fermentation inside the bottle.
This 2008 vintage – yes, it’s the current release! – has been aged for over seven years. The rich and creamy texture is a standout, as is the classic aromatic blend of strawberries, cherries and jasmine. A perfect complement to a special holiday or new year's eve dinner!
The second is the Provincial Vineyards 2015 Nova Sparkling Pinot Gris. The wine is lightly effervescent with flavors of pearl, apple, and a hint of tangerine. It has bright acidity and a clean mineral finish. The result is a drinkable, fruity, sparkling wine that will be a hit at your next holiday party.
Owner/grower Neil Frederickson is a viticulture nerd, with a a passion for the work that happens in the vineyard, long before the grapes hit the barrel and the bottle. And it shows in every bottle of wine he makes!
